This is one of the first journals I ever made. The covers were first hand painted then sponged in shades of blue. The paper covered panel on the front cover features a daisy motif in cream, biege and blue. Other embellishments were added including strings of hand made beads mixed with glass and wood beads. I also added a small brass name plate that has the word "LIFE" on it. The spine has six strings of beads forming a sort of tassel. The front edges of the books pages are individually hand cut "Ocean Wave" style.
The method of binding used for this book allows it to open completely flat for writing, pasting or sketching similar to that of coptic binding.
